Greenhouse farming in our country

Turkey is a country with high potential for agricultural products. Antalya, on the other hand, ranks first in the country in greenhouse production with a total of 136604 daa greenhouse area, including 54685 daa glass greenhouse area and 81919 daa plastic greenhouse area. Intensive greenhouse production is carried out on the 640 km coastline stretching from Kaş to Gazipaşa. Greenhouse production has a great importance in the export of vegetables and fruits. Due to the mild climate dominating the Antalya region and the favorable rainfall rate, at least three seasons can be grown per year. Antalya which has the %57 of the total greenhouse area of Turkey, is the leader in the country in terms of amount of greenhouse production area and greenhouse production technology. The most intensive greenhouse activities in Antalya are carried out in Kumluca with 26.92%. Single products are grown in the 46% of greenhouses located Antalya and double products are grown in the 54% of it. Among the products grown, tomatoes take the first place with 49%.

With the transition of the Russian Federation to free trade in 1995, a high market demand has been created with the increasing demand for tomatoes. Nowadays, modern soilless agricultural enterprises have started to emerge in the Serik and Manavgat regions of Antalya, both at individual and corporate level.

To evaluate Kumluca district where the most intensive greenhouse activities are carried out; Kumluca consists of a more closed basin compared to the centre of Antalya and this situation makes Kumluca more advantageous due to its macro climate feature. Due to the adaptability of the regional production to the different demands and the variety of products, it has a large market share in exports to Central Europe and Eastern European countries.

CAPACITY

Our company has enterprises in Antalya center, Kumluca, Demre, Gazipaşa and Mersin-Tarsus and they are actively working. Daily 40 tons of tomatoes in Antalya, 40 tons of pepper in Kumluca, 50 tons of pepper in Demre, 20 tons of gherkins in Gazipaşa and 20 tons of zucchini in Tarsus are produced. Apart from these products; pear, avocado, quince, broccoli, strawberry, apple, plum, dragon fruit, grapefruit, carrot, cucumber, spinach, fig, cauliflower, watermelon, melon, apricot, red cabbage, lemon, tangerine, lettuce, parsley, pomegranate, nectarine, eggplant, leek, orange and more are also exported by Erbeyler.

According to the export report created on the basis of product types between 01/01/2017-31/12/2020, a total of 70,173,250 kg of products are exported to Germany, Belarus, United Arab Emirates, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czechia, Georgia, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia , Latvia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Ukraine and Greece.

Agriculture

Being a Company that deals with "Agriculture, Logistics, Food", it assists the farmers with Plant Feeding Processes, PP Monitoring and Prevention Systems and especially Farmer Groups (under roof of "Regular Producer Model") that are built by means of mainly GLOBAPGAP Production Management Systems for products' growth in "Greenhouses", which is a way of agriculture conducted in covered areas, so that they can act consciously during production seasons. As a result of this approach, it cooperates with many experienced farmers in the sector and with many companies acting as broker companies in connection with agricultural products.

Supplied products are packaged in 5 different packaging facilities in ABB Producer Marketplaces with a total area of 2500 m2 in 5 different locations managed by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality. These locations are KAŞ, DEMRE, KUMLUCA, KEPEZ GPAŞA, where agriculture is mostly conducted in covered environment and where activity frequency, commercial profitability, labour (familiar with cultural and agricultural activities), agricultural knowledge, individual and company-based production culture are at higher levels when compared with other locations.

Our Company carries on its commercial activities with a corporate management scheme in order to increase and sustain its regular commercial activities, to increase awareness in the sector with the responsibility to be able to contribute to changing periods. Erbeyler follows this process, which begins with the cultivation of products in an "indoor environment", which is one of the most important elements of agricultural activities, and includes social interactions, and offers the freshest agricultural products that contain many nutrients, minerals and vitamins with constant consumption index among other food products.

As the Greenhouse Development Methods process is already an important issue in our country, our company closely examines the greenhouse activities on the borders of our country and all over the world in technical and cultural terms in order to improve its current state and to carry out new planting-planting works.

Logistics

Our Company, which invests in logistics in order to remove sensitivities in the process and in order to improve its activities by dedicating itself to “Timely Delivery Principle” as a result of evolution of agricultural sector in the direction of “freshness” and “food safety” and as a result of the necessity to deliver such products to international supermarkets and to international distributors of agricultural products, started investing in this area of logistics in year 2020 due to gradual increase in the need for delivery services.

Our Company prepared a “refrigerated fleet” constituting of 21 Units of self-owned hauliers and trailers, 2020 model Mercedes Benz hauliers and Krone Trailer vehicles after occurrence of “COVID-19” pandemic conditions, which damaged Food Supply Chains significantly, in accordance with measures and conclusions determined during “COVID-19” pandemic.

For Supply Chain Management Sectors, as the main element in today’s logistic management systems, sufficiency of machine parkours has upmost importance due to suitable and on-site readable aspects of labour. Our improvement is still going on as a result of experiences and changing needs under roof of the principle of developing and managing in the corporate base.
